Schools in The Preserve Neighbourhood

Schools in the preserve neighbourhood

Construction started across the street on sixteen mile dr. and preserve dr. The Halton Catholic District School Board will have a Catholic elementary school here and down the street on Sixteen mile dr and Neyagawa a public school will open.

The Catholic Elementary school is proposed to open in 2 years from now. Whereas, the public school will be finished in 2015. This will be the first elementary school in Oakville North; currently all elementary schools are located south of Dundas.

The public elementary school will have junior kindergarten up to grade 7, for the first year that it is open, and integrate grade 8 the following year. The reason behind this is that they don’t want to move the children from the south elementary school, to a new school just before they head off to high school.

This is great for the Preserve, that two new schools are coming so soon, where most of these children can walk with their parents to the new school or get a 5min drive and don’t even have to go through the hassle of school buses.

Another great thing to keep in mind, is that this will create plenty of new jobs in the community and if there are any teachers looking to buy a new home, then this is definitely a great community, where the schools can be a close drive or a short walk.

The city of Oakville has a regulation on what schools should look like in the city, they are all fairly similar and have a modern square look.

We will keep you posted on exact completion dates of both schools, names of the schools and all the programs being offered.

At the moment the public school is not certain if it will be an English school program, a French one or a school with a French immersion program.

The Catholic elementary school ‘s ground is being graded and leveled, we also know that a major football field will be placed next to the school.
